After months of planning and hard work from the team at MEND and Fifteen, we are proud to announce that the new MEND website is now live!<\/p>\n

About\u00a0MEND<\/strong><\/h2>\n

MEND is a not-for-profit company that works towards empowering and encouraging British Muslims within local communities to become more involved in taking notice of specific events highlighted by British media and politics.<\/p>\n

MEND works with a range of Muslim and non-Muslim organisations to highlight the fact that that anti-Muslim prejudice, anti-Semitism and other forms of racism and xenophobia are still happening on a daily basis across the UK, and that it is unacceptable for people to act that way.<\/p>\n

MEND encourages the community to engage with Politics and Media so that they can promote positive involvement within the community and their duty in working for the common good.<\/p>\n

The Task<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The MEND website required multiple elements of functionality within the initial build, from a front-end website to a portal system that needed to allow Leaders to log in and add events, download resources and add blog posts to the website.<\/p>\n

The new website needed to be modern, user-friendly and showcase the volume of content that is accessible to users via the website. Merging what was two separate sites into one.<\/p>\n

The Website<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Driven by the daily updates of the website\u2019s news and events the website design needed to be clean, functional and showcase everything that is happening at MEND, showing users the latest information straight away, and directing them to the important areas of the website with ease.<\/p>\n

Focussing on the user’s journey through the website, we\u2019ve made sure that the user has easy access to all elements using a sidebar that can be changed on each page, directing the user to various other points of the websites that need.<\/p>\n

The website is developed using best practice code and modern techniques. The site is built using WordPress which is a seamless transition for the MEND team, who\u2019s previous website was also built using the CMS system.<\/p>\n

There are a number of key features on the MEND website, which allows the site to stand out from any others out there. These include:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Tabbed Slider<\/strong> \u2013 the tabbed slider on the homepage allows the user to flick through latest news and events, and access different tabs that takes the user to various other areas of the website.<\/li>\n
  • Working Group Finder<\/strong> \u2013 the website allows a user to type in their postcode or location to find their nearest working group, and have access to information about the group.<\/li>\n
  • MEND Events<\/strong> \u2013 the new site allows users to purchase tickets for events through the website, and will generate a QR code\/e-ticket which will allow MEND to track their sales and attendees for their events helping their marketing moving forward.<\/li>\n
  • Action Alerts<\/strong> \u2013 this is a vital part of the website for MEND, they have a range of alerts that need urgent attention from the MEND community. We have developed a tool that allows MEND to highlight an action alert that will be displayed on the website at all times, as well as multiple options for a user to get in touch to action an alert via email, web form or finding a local MP.<\/li>\n
  • Working Group Zone<\/strong> \u2013 The working group zone allows working group leaders to log into a portal system that allows them to access resources, add and manage their own events, write blog posts and upload images to be used on their working group page.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    We are so pleased with how the website has come together, and we are looking forward to working with MEND moving forward on future projects.<\/p>\n
